I remember watching a clip from the Olympics a while back, it was a long distance run. One of the runners was a few centimeters from the finishing line, he started to smile and looked behind him. Little did he know that by looking back it created air resistance and started to slow down his pace, the runner that was supposed to be in 2nd place increased his speed and ended up coming 1st place. Ouch.
This idea has been on my mind a lot, sometimes we think we have achieved our goal or mastered a habit we used to struggle with but that early “celebration” may just be a bit too early. Have you often found yourself, making the same mistakes time over time? You think you have mastered something but a few days later it comes crawling back?
Well… I have a solution for you. It’s called consistency, measure the small achievements that you make in your day-to-day life. But keep going, even if you are breaking-through because there are still much more achievements to conquer!
“No matter how you feel. Get up. Get dressed. Show up. Just keep going.”
